James Bilsborrow has been an attorney with Weitz & Luxenberg in their Environmental Tort and Consumer Protection Unit since joining the firm in 2011.
Mr. Bilsborrow has litigated several complex mass tort and consumer class action cases. He served as second chair to Robin Greenwald in both the BP oil spill MDL and the General Motors ignition switch MDL. He is also active in nationwide environmental tort litigation against manufacturers and users of the toxic chemicals PFOA and PFOS.
Mr. Bilsborrow is a member of the Next Gen Advisory Board for the Institute for Complex Litigation and Mass Claims at Emory Law School and is a member of the drafting committee for the Duke Law Multidistrict Litigation Best Practices. He has been named a New York metro area Super Lawyers Rising Star four years in a row.
Prior to joining Weitz & Luxenberg, Mr. Bilsborrow worked as a law clerk for Hon. D. Brooks Smith of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Before that, he was a law clerk for Hon. Christopher C. Conner of the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania.
